We helped our customer add storage and drying to boost harvest buying, grain banking, and feed quality.

GroffJulius delivered a turnkey design-build expansion for Sensenig’s Feed Mill that strengthens what matters most during harvest: control, flexibility, and customer service.

By adding on-site storage and grain drying and tying it directly into the mill’s existing receiving and automation systems, the project equips the operation to purchase grain in bulk at harvest, offer no-cost grain banking for customers, and improve feed quality through better handling and conditioning.

The result is a more resilient mill that can respond faster to supply, weather, and demand without adding complexity to daily operations.

From permitting through commissioning, we coordinated site layout, structural and equipment integration, and the electrical and automation work needed to connect new assets into a live facility.

The build features two Sukup 62,000-bushel tanks (36′ Ø, 70′ eave, 80′ peak) with 10-hp aeration fans (~0.2 cfm/bu) and zero-entry paddle sweeps (~4,500 bph), two 8,000-bushel Sukup wet bins, 6,000-bph Sukup conveyors, and a propane-fired Sukup dryer (~620 bph at 5 points) with remote automation.

Delivery partners included Seaboard Construction (foundations), JNR Builders (steel), Waggoner Construction (millwright), and CREST Engineering Associates (engineering).

With a space-limited footprint and active site traffic, we leaned on borough coordination, careful staging, and weekly owner check-ins to maintain schedule and scope while keeping operations running.

Take a behind-the-scenes look at the grain storage and drying expansion Groff Julius delivered for Sensenig’s Feed Mill in New Holland, PA. Featuring Devin Shirk of Sensenig’s and Ean Julius of Groff Julius, this video highlights the partnership, planning, and on-site execution that brought the project from concept to commissioning, while keeping a working facility moving.

From design-build coordination and active-site logistics to smart integration with existing systems, it’s a look at how Sensenig’s is investing in long-term capability and how Groff Julius helps make complex builds feel turnkey.
