Provide a turnkey grain storage and drying expansion that enables vertical integration, adding high-capacity drying and storage while maintaining an active-site traffic plan and schedule commitments.
GroffJulius served as the design-build general contractor for a grain storage and drying expansion in White Deer, PA, enabling Country View Family Farms to vertically integrate—purchasing and drying local grain and adding storage for corn received by rail.
The turnkey scope spanned permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, and featured a Sukup 105′ storage bin (817,000 bu), a Sukup 30′ wet bin (50,000 bu), and a Sukup dryer rated at 4,700 BPH, tied together with Apex towers/catwalk and Schlagel material handling.
Despite rain during roughly 75% of the first 60 days and an active-site traffic plan, the team resequenced work to maintain momentum, finishing on time and on budget while increasing throughput and storage capacity.
